Spying on Chickadees this morning, I saw…

…them flying about and into and out of their nest box in my back yard!  I raised the binoculars to get a better look and they seem to be a very happy couple.

Yesterday evening I peered into their nest box and saw a small amount of nest material built up in a corner of the box.

Nest boxes

I have to be careful not to disturb them so that they do not abandon the nest.  They are cheerful little birds who seem to enjoy their human neighbors.  Nevertheless, too much disturbance to their nest box could cause them to leave.  We wouldn’t want that now, would we?

I’ll peek inside this weekend and see how far along the nest has come.

In the meantime, it’s so much fun to watch them!
